Poker Profiles: Chip Jett

Chip Jett is a Poker star in his own right. He is a fixture in high stake, all-star tournaments where he got all the Poker money he currently has. As of 2005, he has recorded a total of $2 million earnings, which clearly shows that Poker gives Jett the air that he breathes. Poker has been Jett's life ever since he turned pro during the 1990s.

Jett was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 22, 1974. He previously worked as a lifeguard but turned his backs on his lifesaving duties when he learned about the impressive earnings he could get from playing cards. Jett's earliest game was when he was 18, which happened at the then newly opened Fort McDowell Casino. He lost all of his $40 on the first game but fortunately, Jett never gave up at once. Soon enough, he learned more about the dealings at the Poker table and started winning as well. Alongside winning, Jett also garnered numerous citations from different tournament organizers, showing clearly enough that he is a no nonsense player.

Jett's entryway to stardom was bagging the Best All-Around Player award from 2001's Los Angeles Poker Classic. His first tournament win, however, was in Foxwoods' No Limit Hold'em and Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo. Next up, Jett mesmerized the fans of the World Poker Tour when he consistently made good during the years he entered. He continued to participate in different high stake events left and right, eventually grabbing the Card Player Tournament's Player of the Year award and the Phil Hellmuth's Champion of the Year award. He has also made waves in magazine pages, landing on the cover of Poker Digest at one point and on a Sports Illustrated inside page at another.

More than his playing skills at the Poker table, Jett continues to impress the crowd with his downright good looks characterized by his always slick 'do. Unfortunately, the handsome blond is a married man. He has tied the knots with fellow Poker player Karina, whom he faced at the final table in a London Open Event in Old Billingsgate Market as an opponent and not as a wife. This face-off happened in 2005, where the Jetts showed how professional and serious they are about Poker. When he is not busy playing, Chip Jett can mostly be found fooling around with his two kids, crafting and reading. He also writes regularly for Card Player magazine alongside Karina where they maintain a question-and-answer column.
