The Competitiveness of Poker Pro Erick Lindgren

Erick Lindgren has always been a competitive person even when he was still young. Born in Burney, California on August 11, 1976, he first found out of his addiction to being competitive when he started to be involved in sports. He was once recognized as the most valuable player of basketball in California, and he was also once recognized as the best quarterback in the same state. As much as he wanted to continue being a star player in college, he just felt that college was not something he wanted to pursue. Although Erick Lindgren knew that obtaining a degree would definitely give him security as far as financial matters are concerned, he also knew that being in the corporate world was not the life the he wanted for himself.

Erick Lindgren's interest in gambling did not start early. It just began when he worked as a blackjack dealer for a casino. For a time, he thought that being a blackjack dealer was what he wanted in life. He was satisfied with his job until he realized that he just wanted more competition in life. Everything changed when he tried to play poker professionally.

The first time that Erick Lindgren experienced triumph in the poker world was when he won the Limit Hold'em game at the Wild Wild West Tournament on April 9, 2000. He became the first prize winner and took home US$7,300.

The second time that this poker professional experienced real triumph was when he joined the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic tournament that was held at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 12, 2002. He placed first in a No Limit Hold'em game, winning US$228,192.

Erick Lindgren surely seems to be a real competitive poker professional because on October 18, 2003, he earned his first World Poker Tour title. The game he participated in was a No Limit Hold'em game and the cash prize he received was worth US$500,000.

On March 18, 2004, Erick Lindgren earned his second World Poker Tour title right after winning a No Limit Hold'em game. This time, the cash prize that this poker professional received was US$1,000,000.

On April 8, 2006, this poker professional won first place once again in another World Poker Tour event. He was awarded the prize money worth US$261,555.

The abovementioned victories of Erick Lindgren are only a few of all the victories he has experienced as a poker professional. He also has many feats brought about by his participation in other major poker tournaments, such as the World Series of Poker. Aside from his competitiveness, which has been truly effective in his poker career, he is also grateful for poker giant Daniel Negreanu for being his inspiration to always do better in his craft.

When he is taking time out from being competitive, Erick Lindgren just loves to listen to rap music.
